Core Writer
Super excited to announce my three-year stint in the Playwrights' Center's Core Writer Program.
1, 095 days of creative and professional support from the Playwrights' Center. Workshops, social & digital media resources, contacts, connections, and access to a wonderful community of artists in Minneapolis.
I'm a part of a pretty awesome collection of playwrights from across the country.
Fellow 2011 inductees include: Trista Baldwin, Dan Dietz, Marcus Gardley, Samuel Hunter, Marion McClinton, Winter Miller and Qui Nguyen.

Post card 3 [a guide to the work]
Given the context of the scene, the =.= symbol (aka "chicken foot") indicates an active moment of gesture or a moment of communion between characters that transcends language.

Back in it
Posts got mad still for close to year on this site.
Real life trumps the virtual each and every time.
Well. That's not entirely true. The baby blog has been growing this past year. However, THAT site is more of a backpack. It holds pictures, quotes and videos that influence the work and the play. THIS site was meant to be a library of process and observation. That purpose shifted a bit (hence, the sneaker photos). But that's how it goes.
The posts have returned. That is what's important, right? Also, this blog serves as information headquarters for my work as a playwright.
A quick breakdown of what's happening:
- I graduate in a few weeks. I will officially be a master of a fine art.
- My thesis production opens THIS Friday. The play is called BlackTop Sky. Directed by Devin Brain. For more info click the "Upcoming Shows" link up top. The rehearsal room has been pretty sweet. I think it'll be a good show.
- A big move! Location TBD. I say goodbye to New Haven and head to ... (??)
- Writing, as always. Tackling new plays and rewriting older drafts. Also stepping my toe into producing...
- Chilling out. Remembering to stay present. Enjoy the here and now.
