I can rock this t-shirt because it tells it like it is:

Me likes it.

Found magazine

You know when you're walking down the street or in the mall, and you find a random "to do" list or scratched up picture of a hairy trucker?

Now you have some place to send it. Found Magazine collects and posts such treasures and more. The site posts a "Find of the Day," and the magazine offers gems of a grand or thematic nature.

It's a cool magazine and a cool site.

Home cookin & a new addition

Deep in 2nd draft land.
I "cooked" dinner tonight.
And by cook, I mean I used fire, a knife, and olive oil.
It was an oh-so-glamorous night. Here's the proof:

Ummm, not enough red peppers.

The blurry Foreman grill!

Jotted down some thoughts while playing chef.

Got a new cell phone yesterday, and I was SHOCKED to discover how large and ridiculous my old one was:

In my defense, I did attach a super-duper battery to my old one.

Amen...

Joel Osteen.

I've watched his sermons on television, and frankly it's a little chilling to see that many people in a converted stadium listening to one person deliver a message. This is a shot of a crowd attending Osteen's appearance.

And another:

He's a good public speaker, and I think his sermons are well written. I wonder if he would solicit the same reactions if he delivered his messages in a small television studio, speaking directly to the camera. It's interesting to consider the theatrics.

Osteen is featured in this month's
Good magazine.

Wigi vibes & cool dudes

I shipped out two prize applications last week. Shipping out two more in the coming weeks. (Everyone place your index finger against your temple and send good vibes.) My name has been tossed into a few hats this year, and I've been lucky to get picked once or twice. I hope it keeps coming.I say that then think: everything happens for a reason.

Also, I got hip to designer and art director Kevin Lyons.
His site has a few broken links, but interesting to check out nonetheless. Hypebeast featured his retrospective book Pussy and Papers, Poetry, Power and Pistols. Get a glimpse at over 500 tshirts designed by Mr. Lyons. Photos from hypebeast.com and naturalborn.com

Blurb

At the tippy top of the left column you'll find out a lil' bit more about my play.

36 Exposures

File Magazine, Coudal and Flak Photo bring us the 36 Exposure Challenge. Write out an idea, and capture it the old fashion way (on 35 mm film using an ol' skool camera). It's all about going back to the days before digital cameras and Photoshop.

Details are here.

I might dust of my old Barbie camera and get to clickin.

Black Moon - How many mc's....

This song recently came back on my radar. 1993 in full effect!

In theory...

this looks very cool.

But I'm not sure if it'd have the same vibe on the streets.
It's Puma's Bike pack, and it comes in a variety of colors.

dawdlr

I never got into twitter. Doubt I ever will. But dawdlr is a fun idea. It's a super slow version of twitter via postcards. I'm obsessed with making stuff (must compensate for all the words I've been writing/typing in the past 3 months), which probably explains why I like this project. Makes me wish I had a long distance art thing going down.

Early '08, I'm investing in an inexpensive scanner to post sketches and drawings.

I'm plugging away on the new play! Oh man, when I say it's a mess, believe it.

Forgive me if this post doesn't make sense. I've been writing, alone, by myself for many, many hours.

Updates

A new reading list is up. Most of the books are research for the new yet-to-be-titled play (gasp!). Keep in mind I'm still writing the 1st draft of a screenplay and the 2nd draft of Inked Baby.

Oh, and I just figured out how I might approach this idea I have for a novel.

Eeek.

Yo, finish what you start, cra.

Updated "Songs I Hum While I Walk"

The first two songs are from Pharcyde. This clip is from a Spike Jonze documentary about former member FaTLip. If you can make sense of it, I'll give you 5 bucks.
